Your course teacher may ask you to submit your work by either copying and pasting text into the submission box, or by creating a document and uploading it. This could include a Word or Excel document, a PowerPoint presentation, PDF, or another file type. It’s important to download and upload the correct file type that your teacher has requested, so it can be viewed and graded correctly in our system.

NSO recommends that you first write your assignment in a Google Doc or on your device to have it saved in another place. Although the course site frequently auto-saves your work, it’s safest to keep a copy of your work.

To upload your work, first complete the assignment, then save the file on your computer or Google Drive. When submitting text, simply copy and paste it into the submission box. If you're pasting text from a Google Doc, avoid pasting the document link—copy and paste the actual text into the submission box. Keep in mind that text pasted from Google Docs may appear bolded. Make sure to highlight the text and remove any bold formatting before submitting.

If your assignment requires specific formatting, or if it’s a Google Slides presentation, you can go to File --> Download as --> PDF and upload the PDF to your assignment submission.

Another Reminder: Be sure to fully submit your assignments and quizzes. If they’re left as drafts, your teacher won’t be able to grade them. After you click “submit assignment,” a confirmation page will pop up—don’t forget to click the “continue” button to finalize your submission. To double-check, you can confirm that it’s been fully submitted by looking at the submission status on the assignment page.
